Jacob Bass is a rising senior at University of Maryland Baltimore County, majoring in computer engineering. He is interested in earning a PhD in computer engineering and advancing the field of personal computing. He was drawn to computer engineering due to its fundamental nature in human development and the wide variety of fields it can be applied to. His goal is to research new techniques such as advanced photolithography that can be utilized to surpass the barriers on maximum computing speeds, heat, and power consumption. This summer, he is working with Dr. Gymama Slaughter to design and fabricate a miniature temperature sensor that can be used to monitor the temperature of sensitive art work. Outside of professional activities, Jacob plays tennis and exercises.
