Ye Rin Kim is a rising senior majoring in material science and engineering at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). She is part of the SCIART research group this winter that is analyzing the surface reactivity of aragonite with common pollutants such as carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, or ozone. At JHU, Ye Rin is part of Outdoor Pursuits and is a student instructor in leading whitewater kayaking trips. She is excited to explore how her major intersects with conservation science as well as gaining more insight into what conservators do.
